Gold Mercury Becomes Industry Partner of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Brain Health & Ageing

Partnership strengthens global governance in health, entrepreneurship and innovation to accelerate breakthroughs in brain health and healthy ageing.

Brain conditions cost the global economy $3.5 trillion annually ($16 trillion per year by 2030).

LONDON, UK, 1st July, 2026 – Gold Mercury has become an Industry Partner of the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Brain Health & Ageing, a leading UK research centre hosted by the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with King's College London and the University of Exeter.

The partnership reflects Gold Mercury's commitment to advancing global governance in health, promoting responsible innovation, and fostering international collaboration to address one of society's greatest challenges: protecting brain health and improving healthy ageing.

Accelerating Health Innovation

The NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Brain Health is one of fourteen HealthTech Research Centres established by the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to accelerate the development and adoption of innovative health technologies that improve patient care. Bringing together world-leading clinicians, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry partners and healthcare organisations, the Centre helps translate scientific discoveries into practical healthcare solutions that deliver tangible benefits to patients.

As an Industry Partner, Gold Mercury will contribute its international expertise in global health governance, entrepreneurship, innovation and strategic foresight, helping to strengthen collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, technology innovators, healthcare organisations and policymakers to accelerate the translation of research into real-world impact.

From Research to Real-World Impact

A key initiative of the Centre is its Entrepreneurial Skills Training: From Research to Real-World Impact programme, designed for founders, entrepreneurs, researchers, PhD students and businesses developing products, services and technologies that improve brain health and longevity.

The programme equips participants with the entrepreneurial, commercial and strategic capabilities needed to transform scientific research into scalable innovations that can improve lives and strengthen healthcare systems.

Transforming Brain Health Through Technology

The HealthTech Research Centre focuses on advancing technologies that enable earlier diagnosis of dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases, improve care for people living with cognitive disorders, and accelerate the evaluation and implementation of emerging digital health technologies across healthcare systems.

By bringing together expertise from academia, healthcare, industry and entrepreneurship, the Centre is helping to create a new generation of technologies that support prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care for people affected by dementia and other brain disorders.

The future of healthcare depends not only on scientific discovery but also on effective global governance, entrepreneurship and cross-sector collaboration. We are delighted to join the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre in Brain Health & Ageing as an Industry Partner and contribute to accelerating innovations that improve lives while helping build stronger international ecosystems for brain health and healthy ageing.
