LONDON/SOFIA, 21st April 2025 - Gold Mercury International, the global think tank and award organisation dedicated to advancing visionary leadership and sustainable global governance, was featured on Bulgarian national television in a special prime-time segment of “Na Kafe”, broadcast on NOVA TV. Hosted by Gala and renowned journalist Stanislava Ivy, the programme included a special interview with Nicolas De Santis, President of Gold Mercury International.
The segment provided Bulgarian audiences with a unique opportunity to learn about the rich history and international work of Gold Mercury, which was founded in 1961 to promote peace, cooperation, and ethical global leadership. During the interview, President De Santis spoke about the origins of the Gold Mercury Awards, one of the world’s most prestigious recognitions for contributions to global progress and governance.

“For over six decades, the Gold Mercury Awards have recognised the individuals, leaders and institutions that shape a better future for humanity,” said De Santis. “Our goal has always been to honour those who act as protectors of the future, and who demonstrate courage, vision and responsibility in the face of global challenges.”
The programme also highlighted the most recent Gold Mercury Award recipient, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who received the Gold Mercury Peace Award in recognition of his lifelong commitment to non-violence, compassion, and global harmony. This distinguished honour reinforces Gold Mercury’s mission to spotlight moral leadership and ethical action on the international stage.
In the interview, De Santis also discussed the organisation’s pioneering role in analysing and improving global governance systems. As part of its ongoing work, Gold Mercury is developing GLOGO – the Global Governance Monitoring System, a strategic tool to help leaders better understand and manage global interdependence and complexity.
Gold Mercury’s expertise spans international relations, multilateral governance, strategic foresight, and leadership innovation. Through its think tank, advisory services, and global initiatives, the organisation supports both public and private sector leaders in designing strategies that align with the evolving dynamics of our planet.
The NOVA TV appearance represents a growing recognition of Gold Mercury’s role as a global voice for responsible leadership and sustainable development, and we thank Gala, Stanislava Ivy and the Na Kafe team for opening this important dialogue with the Bulgarian public.
“The world today faces unprecedented interconnected challenges. From climate change and technological disruption to geopolitical instability, we must build new systems of cooperation,” De Santis said. “Gold Mercury provides the strategic foresight that leaders need to make informed decisions about the future.”
