Nicolas is the President of Gold Mercury®, the international institution for Future Worldbuilding®, founded in 1961 to advance international cooperation, strategic foresight and Visionary Governance®. Under his leadership, Gold Mercury has evolved into a global platform that brings together leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society to address long-term geopolitical, technological, and societal challenges.
Nicolas De Santis is an international technology entrepreneur, public company director, institution builder, and creator of strategic governance systems, with more than 30 years' experience helping organisations anticipate disruption, build future-ready enterprises, and create long-term value.
He currently serves as an Independent Director of Nasdaq-listed Ferroglobe plc, where he is Chairman of the Governance and Nominations Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee, contributing to board governance, CEO and board succession, executive remuneration, board effectiveness and long-term strategic oversight.
Previously, Nicolas co-founded Beenz.com, the world's first digital currency, and Opodo, the pioneering European online travel company that grew into a business generating more than €1.2 billion in annual revenues.
Across his entrepreneurial career, he has raised more than US$200 million in venture capital and helped build internationally recognised technology businesses.
Nicolas is the creator of Megavisionary Intelligence®—the uniquely human cognitive capability to perceive emerging realities, organise complexity and envision future realities—and of the Megavisionary System®, the cognitive architecture for civilisational-scale Future Worldbuilding®.
