Gold Mercury International
Gold Mercury International is an independent think tank and international non-governmental organisation (INGO) based in London. Since 1961, Gold Mercury has been at the forefront of history in promoting peace, international relations, cooperation, pioneering ethical Global Governance and Visionary Leadership. As an independent think tank and INGO we develop debates on major ‘big picture’ issues affecting global society with the aim to bring about the transformation of public involvement, activism and thought. We use the media, the internet and digital platforms, the Gold Mercury Awards, public debates, forums and a variety of publications to reach our audiences and disseminate our work.
Glogonet™, our global network of organisations, academia and specialist think tanks provide us with the ability to operate on a global scale while keeping the pulse on key local and regional issues.
We continue to work with and advise governments, businesses, organisations, academia, civil society and individuals to radically change performance in the future of governance and sustainability through Visionary Leadership.
Our Mission:
- Advancing Global Governance through Visionary Leadership
- Promoting peace and dialogue through trade, cooperation and sustainable practices

Our Philosophy – Ethical Dynamics™
The absolute need for Anticipatory Governance.
In a world of uncertainty and change, current ethics are no guarantee for future survival. At the heart of globalisation lies the question of how ethics and culture need to rapidly evolve and adapt to face the new challenges and complexities of governance around the planet. Current ethical frameworks do not seem to deliver the vision, innovation or energy required to break from the past and think ahead in a
more coordinated way. Critical time is being wasted.
Gold Mercury believes that we are facing ‘ethical bureaucracy,’ our term to describe a legacy of global impasse created by complexity where ethics are used as an excuse and a barrier to differentiate and compete rather than a tool to find common solutions and concerted action. It is time to change the perception of governance and rethink our values for the future.
In our search for a new ethical framework for global sustainability we feel there is a need to create a new conscience based not on the past but the future: ANTICIPATORY GOVERNANCE. To achieve such a goal we created a new practical theory of ethics that we call Ethical Dynamics™. Ethical Dynamics™ aims to study and rethink ethics and governance for the 21st century. The purpose of Ethical Dynamics™ is to improve understanding and perception of personal values and to clarify people’s role in the future of sustainable Global Governance.
A working framework based on the future – Corporate Vision®
Many international organizations deal with the issue of Global Governance today. We believe we are structuring a Global Governance discourse in a new way. Gold Mercury offers a uniquely flexible approach to identifying and establishing partnerships across sectors. Central to this flexibility is a unique framework linking Gold Mercury and its vision consultancy unit, Corporate Vision Strategists, combining both the public and private approaches to achieve a balance between highly profiled project management and network building. This framework places Gold Mercury in a position to lead organisations in the direction of sustainable and responsible practice in the corporate and public world, generating concrete policy direction in the context of Global Governance.
Gold Mercury believes:
Global sustainability requires an unprecedented collective effort to promote peace and to secure the planets resources for future generations.
Visionary Leadership and Anticipatory Governance based on shared ethics are prerequisites to achieving global sustainability and solving most of the problems generated in the 20th century or before (what we call ‘the unwanted legacies’).
Global Citizenship has become a moral and ethical imperative that requires a new mindset based on a value system that all can adopt, understand and implement. A global order with characteristics of a multilateral cosmopolitan order has an increasingly significant role to play.
In order to fulfil our mission of advancing Global Governance through Visionary Leadership, and of promoting peace and dialogue through trade, cooperation and sustainable practices, Gold Mercury endeavours:
to study new ethical paradigms and mental models required to transform thinking for the future.
to explore the deeper link between global complexity, governance and their impact on sustainability.
to educate citizens about the critical link between governance and sustainability. to develop projects that increase citizen participation in the Global Governance process – towards a more global citizen.
to partner with visionary governments, policy makers, international institutions, the business community, academics, NGOs, civil society and other stakeholders who wish to improve global governance for sustainable outcomes.
to use our proprietary Corporate Vision® framework for strategic vision as a tool to anticipate, discover and promote new paradigms that improve governance for sustainability.
to use our Corporate Vision® framework as a means to improve governance and sustainability for governments, institutions, businesses, international organizations, NGOs and other stakeholders.to promote accountable international relations and cooperation for peace.to award Visionary Leadership and progress for exemplary ethical decision-making and governance on the international stage.
