Ampah Johnson, born in Togo, completed his studies with a Doctorate in Natural Sciences and is the author of several published scientific studies. From 1970 to 1986 Mr Ampah established himself as the Founding Rector of the University of Benin in Togo. He also served as the President of the National Commission for the Development Plan of Togo and the Director of Education. Currently he serves as the Rector and Chancellor of several Universities in Togo. He is also an active member of several international organisations; acting as President of the Africa Club as well as previously serving on the executive board of UNESCO from 1997-2001.
