Don’t become irrelevant. Do it before your competitors or someone from outside your industry do it for you!

The Corporate Vision System® enables organisations to innovate or create new business models and value propositions using the key insights and future industry paradigms derived from the new strategic vision. In the future, the question will not be how many new products, business units, brands or markets you have in your portfolio, but how many sustainable and profitable business models you own and control.

Gold Mercury works with organisations to understand how the new strategic vision and the future affect their business model, how to innovate it and make it relevant. We use the latest business modelling tools to map, describe, challenge and invent new innovative business models.

BUSINESS MODEL INNOVATION

Tools at the forefront of business model innovation

Nicolas De Santis, Gold Mercury’s President, co-authored the book ‘Business Model Generation: The handbook for visionaries, game changers and challengers’ (2010). The book describes the 9 building blocks of a business model in detail and is now a global best-selling phenomenon, available in 18 languages. Nicolas De Santis also co-created, alongside Tim Clark, the book ‘Business Model You! A one-page method for reinventing your career’ (2012).

Change and innovation are disrupting existing business models. Re-invent your own business model to create your own paradigm. Don’t become irrelevant.

Strategic Vision must drive business model innovation. Don’t let your business model become outdated due to lack of vision!

Who killed the Sony Walkman and Nokia franchises? Not another competing product but new business models in music, sound management and mobile telephony.

Like Nokia in the world of mobile phones, Sony was the byword for innovation in the global electronics industry of the 80’s and 90’s. While Sony and Nokia saw themselves as electronic companies, Apple implemented a strategic vision, aimed at changing the world. Their business model provided a platform, which solved future customer’s needs. The rest is history.

Who is eating the Telco’s lunch today?
Not another Telco but a peer2peer business model called Skype! Is your business model safe or soon under attack?

Social Business Model Innovation
Global Health
New successful business models are emerging from the need to solve people’s problems, a global challenge or to replace an existing industry player or paradigm: for instance, in GLOBAL HEALTH, ‘The Peepoo Bag’ is an affordable solution that aims at solving the global problem of basic sanitation in places such as Africa and India.

BUILDING DIGITAL STRATEGIES WITH BUSINESS MODEL INNOVATION

CASE STUDY: CANAL+ YOMVI

We developed a new vision and digital strategy for Canal+, the pay television operator now owned by Telefonica. Using our business model expertise, we organised and redeployed existing corporate assets to create a new VOD (Video on Demand) business model and brand to transform Canal+ from a Satellite only pay television operator to a digital market leader. This strategy also delayed the arrival of Netflix to Europe by creating a powerful mix of both live pay television channels and on demand films.

The new brand Yomvi rapidly became the leading VOD platform reinforcing the pay television proposition as well as building a new digital business and audience for Canal+.
