Job Description

The Business Analyst has to develop foundational knowledge across each of the basic functions (e.g. strategy, vision development, policy formation, economics, marketing, organisational, etc). Business Analysts take responsibility for part of the problem solving in each client engagement. They play an important role in data gathering, actively contribute to the team’s final recommendations, and present their work to Consultants and to senior client executives. They also have a voice in determining the team’s style and pace of work.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing (with supervision) Gold Mercury’s social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Flickr, Google Plus, and others: following our social media strategy documents – reacting to current events but keeping the approach focussed on our vision.
  • Expanding Gold Mercury’s social media reach, impact and followers.
  • Building relationships with similar brands and media outlets via social media.
  • Curating relevant content for website usage and social media.
  • Proof-checking information and publications to be posted on website and/or social media.
  • Reviewing and helping to develop scripts and draft videos for release as part of Gold Mercury’s social media strategy.
  • Analysing and understanding social media/website analytics and providing concrete recommendations and action plans based on clear presentation of the information.

Gold Mercury International is the global governance and visionary leadership think tank founded in 1961. We are seeking interns to work on our research projects which are based on our research agenda. This voluntary, unpaid internship is ideal for graduate students majoring in political or social sciences or other students with strong research skills, who wish to contribute to meaningful research projects.

The Research Intern will be involved in essential tasks relating to our projects, conducting desktop research and reporting on key decisions and events of global governance. Depending on experience and performance, interns may be able to take on additional responsibilities related to developing briefings and papers.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting desktop research
  • Drafting a report with findings on a pre-assigned topic
  • Ad hoc assignments may also be given including some administrative tasks

Learning Opportunities:

  • Developing strong research skills and ability to analyse complex information
  • Gaining experience in a think tank
